Reyael was a pragmatic individual. She could fight, yes, and be brutal when doing it, but she knew how to pick her battles and bide her time. It was how she rose from a slave to the sith to their Empress. As such, she also knew when it was time to walk away. This time wasn’t only for self-preservation, but to keep her children safe. Reyael, formerly known as Darth Keres, packed her belongings, her children, and left the crumbling Sith Empire and her husband, Darth Maestys, behind. She wasn’t running. She was leaving. Unfortunately, no matter how stealthy Rey was and the precautions that she took, Maestys had discovered her trail and was on his way to find both her and the kids and bring them back. No matter what it took. He hunted his family down to a small estate on Tatooine. Intent to bring his kids back home with him, Maestys wasted no time in taking down the guards and security surrounding the estate. He marched in, cape billowing, to find Reyael barring his path. The husband and wife exchanged heated words in which Maestys threw a tantrum and Reyael tried to cooly shut him down, however neither was budging in what it was they wanted. It was Maestys that struck first. The battle took longer than Reyael had expected. Always when the two sparred, she won. When they argued, she won. She could see now that Maestys had been holding back. An hour of intense fighting left both of them battered and bleeding, none more so than Reyael. Had it been only her, she would keep going until the very end, but her responsibilities lay beyond just herself now. All that was between Maestys and the twins was her. Realizing this, she stepped just over the threshold and, with one last taunt to her husband, secured the blast doors between them. With minutes to spare, Rey rounded up the kids and took off through a secret back entrance. She sent two messages- one to Alex, asking for his assistance to take the kids and keep them safe once she could reach him as well as to free a potential ally. To that ally, Darth Karza, Reyael offered revenge against Maestys for one thing: help her kill him.
