Biography: Grew up spoiled and wealthy, from a high-standing and well-respected Chiss family on Copero. They excelled in their employ as spies, hired by and serving the Empire for decades. As a child and through her teenage years, Kal got what she wanted. Whether she asked, demanded, or simply gave a look, her family's staff was at her beck and call. Not only did she grow up believing that she and her family were elite among their own kind, but she was a firm believer that the Chiss were the superior beings in the galaxy. That was not to say that Kal couldn’t be friendly. There were a select few Chiss children her age that Kal enjoyed spending time with. Those rare few knew her as Kallie and were able to open up a softer, more vulnerable side to her that she often kept hidden from the world, including her own family. Loyal first to the Chiss, her family also served the Empire. Her father was a decorated imperial officer and as the youngest of four children, Kal wanted nothing more than to follow in her father's footsteps and prove she was capable of upholding the Ina family name as fierce and loyal. And of course, the more power her family had, well, then the better off they would be. And if it was her that brought it, well, then all the more better for her. So Kal served the best she knew how. She trained to fight, to lie, to use subterfuge and persuasion, using any means necessary. Her favorite method came to be poisons. She studied poisons, brewed them, tested them, and sought out texts outlying long lost recipes. She learned how to poison blades, poison bullets, and even how to subtly add an additional drop of something extra into an unsuspecting senator's evening brandy when he wasn’t giving up the information that she needed. Kal quickly rose through the ranks among the imperial military, becoming one of their top spies and information officers. She knew how to get the information she was after, how to find the people that could not be found, and ultimately, how to remove pawns no longer needed on the chess board that was the galaxy. Kal became so engrossed in her role, that when she did make trips back home, it was difficult for her to open up and be herself once more with her family and not the imperial spy. She suspected everyone of ulterior motives. Being paranoid and elitist was not a cute mix. The only people who made her feel less robotic and more like her old self were her childhood friends, who somehow help her anchor herself, at least for a period of time.
Until she lashed out. Kal had gotten so deep into her paranoia that she cut herself off completely from those she knew. Not only that, but her breakdown destroyed a deep cover mission that the empire had been relying on. She brought shame to her family and to herself. She was forced to leave the her job. Her family shunned her. Affection and support was not the way of the Chiss. She was at rockbottom and was made to crawl her way back up herself. Slowly she pieced her life back together. She began taking on her own jobs, using her skills from her time in the imperial military to make bank as a spy and an assassin. Many required her to use her seductive charms, often having to pretend to romance or get in bed with a mark on more than one occasion in order to get close enough to kill them or get the information she needed. She hated it. Hated that she felt she could never get close to anyone, nor that she trusted anyone to get close enough to anyway. The only thing fueling her now was to survive by spite. Her family had expected her to crash and burn long before this, to crawl her way back. But Kal was good at what she did and she was stubborn. One by one, her assignments led her to the Underground.
With these missions for the Underground, Kal was able to move away from the missions that often had her using her body. She felt as if she was a true assassin, able to showcase her skill with her sniper rifle and poison over skill in the bedroom. Although lying was still involved, Kal felt her self-hatred start to ease. She was coming to enjoy the job and even some of those whom she frequently worked with. While she still felt these ragtag criminals not quite up to her standard, they were at least entertaining.
And then she got to know one particular criminal known as The Margrave. He was a human, which was a bit sad, but he was witty, charming, and handsome. Despite Kal never saying much and only sticking to business when on the job, he somehow had taken an interest in her. After one assignment involving a baby wampa and a hutt eaten from the inside out, The Margrave requested a dance. Never one to shy from a challenge, Kal accepted.
