About Us

The Golden Age Gaming Company began to create games in 2007 based on pop culture icons like Stargate, Dragonball Z & Star Wars.

This group of creative friends and their collaboration is what gave life to the first iteration of our community.

The company retired after years of success due to multiple factors like platform popularity and accessibility.

As the company closed, The Golden Age Gaming Company made the switch to being a community; starting a small guild in Star Trek Online and finding new friends with mutual interests. There are a few individuals from inception of the company still play games together on the TGAGC Discord and in our original Star Trek Online community, founded in 2010.

In December of 2011, many of us became active in the official launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic

None of us knew then that it would be one heck of a ride and to this day remains an active core game in our community.

Over the years, we have branched out into other MMOs, some old, some new, such as World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, and Black Desert Online.

We've since opened our doors to games other than MMOs, having some casual players in Grand Theft Auto V, Tabletop Simulator,

Red Dead Online, and

Baldur's Gate 3.

Growing further into more ways to interact and play, TGAGC is now home to its very own book club where you can vote on and Dungeons & Dragons categories, where Dungeon Masters can and advertise their campaigns, and adventurers can come in search of that adventure they so very much crave!

Golden Age Pillars

Accessibility

We pride ourselves on making gaming more accessible by creating a gaming hub where you can receive assistance both in game and as a player. If you're new to a game, we often have gear, pets, mounts or other collectibles set aside for newer members, just ask a leader in-game or on Discord.

Collaboration

The more ideas and voices the better! We work closely on detailed concepts from raiding to roleplay scene tracking and event planning. Conversation, off-the-wall ideas, creativity and notes (oh, so many notes) make things happen around here!

Connection

Our goal is to create a place where it's not about the game you're playing, but the people you're playing with. Our casual atmosphere helps you naturally meet people who are interested in similar activities.

If you have a group of friends you game with, you're all welcome!

Integrity

We appreciate that when someone joins, they are relying on us to be a safe place for them to make friends. If you see something that bothers you, please say something to a member of community leadership. We are dedicated to investigating reports of misconduct within our community.

Community Leadership

Rhade

Founding the community over a decade ago, Rhade's seen it all! He contributes on all levels of the community from recruitment and new member orientation to officer training and the nitty gritty document work.

He is open to messages anytime for questions about anything in any game.

Shey

Shey began by writing newsletters to SWTOR then building a website as a hub for the community. Growing into more of the administrative documents behind the scenes, she strives to make the community more welcoming by improving accessibility and presentation of information

You can direct questions or comments about documents or the website to her anytime!

Tobias

Tobias has a hand in most games within the scope of TGAGC, he's an avid roleplayer, writer and lore aficionado in Star Wars Sith Alchemy & World of Warcraft. Much of the content in our guild roleplay stories have been written or improved by his contributions.

Zach

Zach plays a pivotal role in our community, bringing both skill and creativity to the forefront. His dedication to the raiding scene includes forming teams and guiding them through advanced content, showcasing his commitment to group success. In the realm of roleplay, Zach's contributions shine brightly as he assists in orchestrating events and weaving intricate stories. His efforts have significantly shaped our RP ruleset, making it what it is today. Zach’s balanced approach to both strategy and storytelling enriches our community's diverse interests.

Alyssa

Alyssa began writing newsletters in the SWTOR branch, before soon falling in love with roleplay. Alyssa immerses herself entirely in universes and rulesets with her detail oriented mindset. She is skilled at expressing ideas clearly and organizing entire sections of roleplay at a time. With characters Raldani, Mae and Rowena, Alyssa is a roleplay powerhouse.

Dijhara

Dijhara is an integral part of the inner mechanics of our community documents as well as a long time event-planner with a specialty in raiding and datacron hunting. An excel wizard and a language enthusiast, she's learning Spanish, French and Italian!

Kim

Kim is concise, clear, and critical in her writing and thinking process. Kim helped to found our original SWTOR roleplay ruleset and is still contributing to new alterations today. Kim is behind RP characters Noora, Gal, Reyael, & Tezi. She likes to approach roleplay from all sides, showing empathy and exploring character mindspaces. She has inspired "generations" of roleplayers with her classes and events.

Classified

Classified is a techie who supports the community through Discord and technical set ups, enabling our radio station and filling in on raid teams. His efforts help to make TGAGC well rounded and more engaging.

Retired Leadership

These individuals have each contributed years of effort and thus earned a permanent spot in the heart of the community.

Here, we appreciate the road they paved for us to continue growing.

Axy

Axy is a PVE healing specialist. He has ranked in the top 3 Scoundrel healers in SWTOR and has contributed to years of weekly raid nights. He has trained about 8 raid healing teams across 4 games with multiple of those teams ranking in the top 5 on their respective servers.

Rufus

A long-time senior council member, often referred to as Rhade's right-hand man, Rufus was a font of wisdom and compassion within the community. Rufus would always make time to sit down with you, chat, and debate the nuances of life regardless if it was an in-game issue or a real-life matter. Sharing and spreading his wisdom to all he came into contact with, Rufus was a strong, founding pillar of our community.

Loco

A long-time member who practically grew up in the community was often found in the fray of raiding with the guild across many of the community's supported games. Now retired, Loco still helps the community out from time to time with IT support.

Denroz

Denroz was a founding member of the Star Trek Online branch and a key functionary in one of the most important jobs officers and leadership have; connecting with people. Denroz consistently welcomes members, running impromptu activities to support member's growth when and where they need it. We always need more Denroz-es!

Nixii

Nixii, a former senior council member, was very active in SWTOR and within the community itself, setting aside time to help new members. Whether it was setting them up with a new member care package or running them through content to help gear them up, he always took the time to assist those in need or even run them to Space McDonald's.

Wildblade

Wildblade, an excellent raider as well as a Raid Officer, has helped take several members & Raid teams to new heights in raiding. By pushing the new SWTOR content to its limits with our raid teams, he has kept us competitive in the raiding scene. He made it his personal goal to achieve 100% of the SWTOR raiding achievements, a feat he has successfully completed.

In memoriam

Kaymarl

Kaymarl was not just a player or officer; he was a guide and mentor in our PvE community. His expertise in leading adventurers through dungeons and flashpoints, his knack for assembling and mentoring raid teams, and his genuine warmth & patience in training the next generation of raid captains & teams exemplified the true essence of his camaraderie and leadership.

Always wearing a smile, Kaymarl embodied the joy of gaming. His friendliness wasn’t confined to our just our community; it extended into every interaction, making each moment memorable and every battle less daunting. His departure has left a hole in our hearts, silence in our chats and a void in our raids, but his spirit continues to inspire us.

Beyond the game, Kaymarl lived a life full of love and laughter. A devoted husband, a loving father, and an officer who carried his duties with honor. His love for Star Wars was evident, not just in his appreciation for SWTOR but in the way he infused our community with the magic of its lore and laughter.

As Kaymarl’s name stands here, let it serve as a beacon of his enduring legacy—a legacy of kindness, laughter, and the profound impact one individual can have on a community as well as our own lives. His tales of bravery and friendship will continue to be told, inspiring both current members and those yet to join our ranks.

In memory of Kaymarl, we celebrate not only the legend he became but the person he was. His journey with us may have concluded, but his story remains, interwoven with the fabric of our community, forever guiding us like the stars guide the galaxy.

Kaymarl, your light will never fade from our collective memory. Thank you for the battles fought, the laughter shared, and the memories cherished. Here’s to you, our friend, whose legacy will always shine brightly.
